ALBANY George P. Connair, 62, died
Friday, February 28, 2003 at his home. Born and educated in Troy, he was
the son of the late Thomas and Pauline Flaherty Connair. George worked
for many years with the NYS Court of Appeals, retiring in September of
2002. He was a member of the Delaware Area Neighborhood Assoc. (DANA).
George fulfilled his life long dream of co-owning two thoroughbred race
horses. He was the dear husband of Mary O'Brien Connair; brother of
Helen Connair Robideau and her husband Joseph of Watervliet, William
Connair and his wife JoAnn of Simi Valley, Calif., nephew of Francis
LaBelle of Watervliet and the late Paul and Loretta Flaherty and Edward
LaBelle; brother-in-law of Richard O'Brien of Blackstone, Mass., Timothy
O'Brien of Selkirk, Margaret O'Brien of Albany, Edward O'Brien of
Slingerlands and Maureen McMullen and her husband Timothy of Albany;
uncle of Erin O'Brien, Kathleen (Francis) Faragon, Susan (Paul) Deeley,
Richard O'Brien, Cynthia (Joseph) Kaiser, Colleen (David) Quell, Darleen
Robideau, Jaclyn O'Brien, Brendan O'Brien and Michael McMullen;
great-uncle of Deondra, David, Alexandra, Joseph and Paul. He is also
survived by several cousins and many dear friends. Funeral services will
be held on Tuesday at 8:15 a.m. from the Daniel Keenan Funeral Home, 490
Delaware Ave. thence to St. James Church where a Mass of Christian
Burial will be celebrated at 9 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited
and may also call at the funeral home Monday from 4-8 p.m. Interment
will follow the Mass in Calvary Cemetery, Glenmont. In honor of George's
interest in and love for horses and his neighborhood, contributions can
be made in his memory to DANA, c/o 24 Jeanette St. Albany, N.Y. 12209
which has established a special fund in his name for the Normanskill
Farm, home of the Albany Mounted Police Unit.
